Editorial standards

Every page is built from a claims ledger in which each factual statement carries its source, its evidence grade, and the date we fetched and read that source. Statements about human evidence cite human studies; statements from rat, mouse or monkey work carry the species; laboratory results carry the tissue. A claim graded as a human trial must resolve to a study in people, and no claim on this site carries a randomized-controlled-trial grade, because no randomized controlled efficacy trial of selank was located. Pages are checked against the ledger before publication, and the ledger ships publicly at /evidence.json so anyone can repeat the check.

We cite what we fetched and read, and we say so when we could not. Primary sources are PubMed and Europe PMC records, FDA pages, PubChem, the ClinicalTrials.gov registry and the WADA Prohibited List. Where a source is a Russian-language paper, we cite the PubMed abstract and label the publication language, and we do not paraphrase beyond what the abstract states, because we have not read the full text. Where a source could not be retrieved, we record the attempt and its outcome rather than dropping it: our attempt to verify selank's Russian registration at the Russian State Register failed a control test, and that failure is published alongside the claim it could not confirm. Absence of evidence is documented with the query that produced it, so an empty result can be rerun and checked. Statistics about this site's own content, including our census of the selank literature, ship with the script that computed them.

This pack was verified on 2026-08-14 and every page shows that date. We re-verify when a source changes: an FDA listing move, a newly registered or published trial, a replication from any laboratory, or a translation of the Russian full texts. Because selank's evidence base has been static for years, an update here would be genuine news, and we would rather say nothing has changed than manufacture freshness.

If a number, a citation or a grade on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say what changed. Corrections to factual claims are recorded in the claims ledger with the date and the reason, so the history is visible rather than quietly overwritten. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who can read the Russian full texts, since those papers contain design and dosing detail their English abstracts omit, and our pages currently say so rather than guessing.
